Income Tax Preparation and Consultation

With the two acts of Congress that effect tax law this year, we have the most changes since 1984. None of these changes have made it easier to prepare your taxes, and plan your retirement and capital transactions. For these reasons, many practitioners are calling these tax acts, "Tax Preparer Welfare Acts." The changes may not effect you now, but the retirement provisions of the bills will effect you at some point. What it has come to is that you need a Tax Professional, and you should consult him on every possible change in your retirement account, and learn what is the effect of the new long-term capital transactions.

If you have dependents in college, or are in college your self, again you need a tax professional to determine which is best for you, the Hope Credit, the Lifetime Credit, or being able to use the Educational IRA. It might be best to just leave the Educational IRA alone, and use one of the credits.

There are a variety of services that come under this classification, and fees can range from very small, to quite large. Examples of the services offered are:

Personal Tax Returns
Comprised of preparation of personal federal and state income tax returns. This can be complete preparation to consultation regarding an area that you are unsure of in your own preparation.
Preparation of Corporate, Partnership, Limited Liability Company, Nonprofit, or Fiduciary Tax Returns
Complete preparation of federal and where necessary, state returns for these various entities.
IRS Audits
If any of the mentioned returns are questioned for some reason, I am able to handle the complete inquiry with the IRS. You may be present or not, which ever you choose. This is an additional service, and not included in the cost of preparing the original return.
Occupational, Sales or Payroll Taxes
Registration with the various authorities that it is necessary to register with when you have employees, or make sales subject to sales tax or if you need an occupational license. How to account for, and pay them over to the appropriate authority.

These services are available individually, or across the board, as you require them. An engagement letter of understanding covering fees and responsibility must cover each service.
